Description

BUD

The bud has an open blade and no anthocyanin pigmentation. Very low or null hairiness of upright hairs and very low of downward ones.

ADULT LEAF

The blade is pentagonal-shaped with three or five lobes. No anthocyanin pigmentation on the main veins. Small teeth with convex sides. Teeth are wider than longer. Open petiole sinuses, with V-shaped base. Lateral sinuses with variable depth and V-shaped base. Null and low density of downward and upright hairs between the main veins and null hairiness over them (on the underside of the blade). No hairiness on the main veins of the bundle.

BUNCH

Compact, conical and medium-sized bunches, sometimes free. The peduncle of the bunch is quite long.

BERRY AND SEED

Medium-sized, spherical and blue-black berries. Not-coloured pulp, juicy, soft and without particular flavour.

OTHER

Between the different Mencía vines located in different locations of Galicia and Asturias, they showed clonal differences in terms of lateral sinuses depth and bunches compactness.
